The Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia and the Public Aquarium and Tropicarium in Belgrade invite all citizens to help in providing food and thus enable the survival of more than 3000 live specimen of 220 wild and bred species of fish, reptiles, corals, plants and other wildlife housed in 208 aquariums, terrariums and the outdoor pond ecosystem.

Regarding the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia on declaring a state of emergency and respecting the measures to protect the health of population and prevent the spread of the corona virus COVID-19, the Public Aquarium and Tropicarium has stopped working with visitors, which has led to the interruption of the inflow of funds from the sold tickets for the purchase of food necessary for all animals in this unique mini-zoo in the capital of Serbia.

Currently, the Public Aquarium and Tropicarium has financial means and food supplies for 7 days, after which the survival of animals will depend solely on donations from city institutions, businesses and prominent citizens, the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia says on its website.
