Nine tourist agencies lost licenses in 2009
- Nine tourist agencies in Serbia lost working licenses in 2009 - said Stojan Arizanović, the Assistant to the Minister of Economy for Tourism Inspection Sector.
He said that one of those agencies - "Via
balkanika turs" from Belgrade - had been taking money from passengers and then canceling arrangements at the last moment because it had neither provided accommodation nor handed passports.
The license was also taken away from tourist agency "MB best turs" from Belgrade, which was paid by the grammar school students from Inđija to organize their prom excursion, but nine students were not granted visa and they were informed on that on the day of the travel. Arizanović said that the Embassy of Greece had confirmed later that they had not rejected any visa application and that all visas had been granted for free.
Tourist agency "Izlet" ceased to meet the stipulated conditions for license because it did not have any employees with the required degree.
"Mis turs" from Požega lost the license because it did not meet the conditions for the license of category A.
The licenses were also taken away from agencies "Grand TT" from Novi Sad, "TT travel Maršićanin Gordana i drugi" from Belgrade, "Strela-Ub" from Ub, "Europutovanja" from Belgrade and "Take off" from Niš.
"Grand TT" from Novi Sad was transporting passengers in defective buses for two years.
Agency "Europutovanja" canceled the trip for the group of 137 passengers on the day of the travel because it failed to provide the bus for the travel to Halkidiki-Kalitea.
