- The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina will invest minimum 100m RSD in development of the infrastructure of Aero-club "Novi Sad" in 2010 through the Capital Investments Fund, primarily in the Airport in Čenej - the Prime Minister of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, announced at the annual assembly of Aero-club "Novi Sad", which was held yesterday (December 28th, 2009) in Spens.

He said that the provincial authorities would back the ambitious plans of the new management of Aero-club because they were compatibel with the development plans of the Province and the City of Novi Sad.

As the President of the club, Stanislav Novaković, explained while presenting the platform for the club's business development under the name of "Revolution", the idea is that Aero-club "Novi Sad", together with the airport in Čenej, keeps its status in the aviation sport and positions in the market in 2010 as inevitable part of the domestic aviation industry.

- In order to attract air-cab lines, private air fleets of businessmen or low-cost companies, we must have the runway and accompanying infrastructure built for the airport of C category, along with the border terminal and police precinct, so that the airport could get the international status - said Novaković.

He pointed out that there had not been significant investments in the infrastructure ever since the airport had been founded in 1953. Agency TCT "Consulting" is currently collecting the documentation about legal status and ownership relations for the property at the airport in Čenej, which must be resolved before the commencement of realization of concrete reconstruction projects. However, according to the words of the representatives of the consulting agency, everything goes very slowly because major share of the original documentation is lost.

The Assembly of Aero-club "Novi Sad" has adopted the new statute that underlines provincial importance of the club and the airport, and it has also appointed new members of the Administrative Board, one of whom should be Saša Dragin, the Minister of Agriculture of Serbia.
