Alumil opens architectural contest for redefining Thessaloniki west coast – Award fund EUR 60,000

Alumil has opened the International Architectural Contest for a Preliminary Design for Redefining the West Coast of Thessaloniki.

The ArXellence 2 contest is an open, free, single-round international contest for a preliminary design which aims to emphasize innovative design as an ideal tool for the success of the new Thessaloniki Central Business District (CBD), it is said on the website of the Spatial Research Center from Banjaluka.

The sponsor and the organizer of the contest is Alumil, an international company headquartered in Greece, which specializes in development of advanced architectural aluminum systems and is supported by the International Union of Architects (UIA). It is to be carried out in line with the UNESCO's standard rules for international architecture and urban planning contests and the UIA's best practice recommendations.

The contest is open between March 9 and May 25, 2020. The awards amount to EUR 60,000, and the six winners and four special prizes will be pronounced and handed out on November 25, 2020. The award ceremony will be followed by a 20-day exhibit at the Thessaloniki Town Hall and a similar exhibit at the Thessaloniki Music Hall.
