Company "Sirogojno" had fruit drying factory built - production to start in January 2010
- Company "Sirogojno", which purchased and prepared about 4,000 tons of frozen fruits for export this year, has put the new factory for drying and canning fruits in Požega's village of Rupeljevo in trial operation - Rade Ljubojević, the company's owner and CEO, confirmed.
- Even in the conditions of the economic crisis, company "Sirogojno" has managed to provide about 1m EUR for this investment - said Ljubojević and pointed out that regular production in that facility at 1,000 square meters, in which 10 people had already got jobs, would start in January 2010.
Ljubojević said that dried fruits from that unit would be offered to the markets in USA, Japan and Europe, where they would be sold in small packaging in retail stores, and they would also be sent to food and confectionery industries worldwide.
According to the words of the company's owner, up-to-date equipment from the USA and Mexico has been built in this factory, while the fruit drying technology is based on experiences and knowledge from our tradition in combination with the recommendations of eminent nutrition experts.
- Major share of raw materials for production in this factory will be provided from the region of Užice, which is famous for fruit growing, so that we will have sufficient quantities of raspberries and other berry-like fruits, as well as plums and apples, while necessary annual quantity of 2,000 tons of blackberries will be purchased in the south of Serbia and imported from Montenegro and other countries - said Ljubojević.
According to his words, the factory will compensate for the shortage of black currant in our market by importing that fruit, and company "Sirogojno" will, at the same time, insist on that production in Serbia.
