Restoration of authentic look of facilities and walls of Belgrade's Fortress
- City of Belgrade has granted total of 5,064,000 RSD to public company "Beogradska
tvrđava" (Belgrade's fortress) for elaboration of the projects for preservation, presentation and revitalization of large number of sites and facilities within the fortress. Once all the projects are implemented, this significant historical complex will get back its old, authentic glow - "Beoinfo" announced.
These projects include the works on the sector of the Southeast wall of the Upper Town of the Belgrade Fortress – the South Gate complex, Halls I and II, refurbishment of the access corridor to Big powder storage, works on the Bastion of the Sava slope, on the sector of the North wall of East undertown and the Southeast wall of Upper town - the Clock Gate and Baroque Gate complex, as well as the work on Bastion III of the Southwest front of the Belgrade Fortress.
– One part of the works will be carried out on the Sava slope. Once that whole section is organized, the part of the Fortress underneath monument "Victor" will be completely restored. When all the announced works are finished, not only will the passage from the Sava walk and the Upper town to Lower town at Kalemegdan be usable, but also the structure and the looks of the facilities and walls will be changed and returned to their initial state – MA Ivana
