Video surveillance, software, parking lots for bicycles - Public utility company "Parking servis" in Novi Sad announced new investments in 2010

During the next year, public utility company "Parking servis" in Novi Sad plans to invest in installation of video surveillance system in garages, new software and procurement of street cuffs for improper parking of vehicles. The video spider system should be put in operation in January, and installation of parking lots for bicycles will also be resumed.

- I hope that we will also start realization of the rent-a-bicycle project - Ivan Ferko, the CEO of public utility company "Parking servis", pointed out at yesterday's (December 17, 2009) final annual press conference.

According to his words, the parking prices should not be changed, except for indoor parking lots and garages where parking will cost 30 RSD instead of current 22.5 RSD per hour.

- The city will have larger incomes from "Parking servis" because the public utility tax that is included in the parking price will be increased, so that between 27 and 30m RSD will be paid to the city treasury every year. Also, we are not going to receive money from the city for current subventions, except for Winter Service, and we will finance everything from our own funds - says Ferko.

As far as the results achieved by the company in 2009 are concerned, Ferko pointed to the sale of the SMS parking system to nine cities in the country, the cooperation with the municipality of Inđija, the improvement of motor pool, the opening of a parking lot for bicycles, the opening of two new parking lots in Radnička Street and new parking lot for trucks near Najlon market, as well as the organization of two conferences on parking, at which the Association of Parking Lots of Serbia was formed.
