The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia has chosen ProCredit Bank as its partner in the Program of Support to Small Enterprises, within which the state would approve grants worth RSD 2 billion to local companies.

According to the program, companies should provide at least 5% of the value of the equipment bought, they will get a grant of 25% of the value (up to 5 million dinars) from the budget of the Republic of Serbia and the remaining 70% is financed through a favorable loan at ProCredit, the bank said in a press release.

Grants are available for micro, small and medium companies. The funds from this program will be used exclusively for investments in the procurement of new production equipment and machines, purchase of transports means involved in the production, investments in the procurement of new parts, specialized tools for machines and other capital goods, as well as procurement of building mechanization, but also machines and equipment for improving the energy efficiency and ecological aspects of the production.

ProCredit Bank has taken part in six programs realized in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy so far.

– We are glad that, with our professional and financial support, many companies in Serbia will once again be able to modernize their business and continue improving it. The amount the state has set aside this year is two billion dinars, which means that more companies will be able to benefit from this kind of support than before – pointed out Ana Milic, the director of the corporate sector of ProCredit Bank.

The press release adds that the biggest benefit of the support program is the grant in the amount of 25% of the planned procurement.

– Furthermore, in addition to the very favorable interest rates, what makes this program special is the security the companies will need in order to get a favorable loan from ProCredit Bank. To clarify, according to the program, the security can be the procured item itself, which will enable many small companies to modernize their production under much simpler conditions. Also, each loan approved by the banks within this program has a grace period of six months – ProCredit Bank says.

– Our goal is for last year's result of around EUR 18 million of paid loans within the program to be exceeded. ProCredit Bank is already in contact with numerous companies which plant to use the state's grants, and we invite everyone who's interested to apply – Milic said.
