Anđelko Trpković to remain CEO of Belgrade Fair
(Anđelko Trpković)
As "Novosti" learns, at yesterday's meeting (December 10, 2009), the Government of Serbia did not accept the letter of resignation submitted by the Director General of the Belgrade Fair, Anđelko Trpković. The majority of ministers were against Trpković's leave.
He will, most probably, remain in the position of the CEO of the Fair as a non-party person, while the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) will, probably, get some other position in public companies.
Trpković submitted the letter of resignation to the Government of Serbia three days ago, after he was "introduced to the decisions made by SPO". Trpković used to be a member of SPO and he assumed the position of CEO of the Belgrade Fair at that party's suggestion.
- According to these decisions, the appointed people are expected to represent the positions and consistently implement the decisions of the party organs. Since I made the decision in January 2008 and informed the party's management that I was not going to take active part in the party's work, I am of the opinion that, as an appointed person, I should resign - Trpković explained his decision to resign on that occasion.
Trpković assumed the position of the CEO of the Belgrade Fair in 2004. During his mandate, the Fair operated successfully and registered turnover of 1.44 billion RSD in 2008, 42% more than in 2004. None of the manifestations organized by the Fair has brought losses, while total profit amounted to 163m RSD. It is expected that the Fair's profit in 2009 will exceed 2m EUR.
