The director of the Clinical Center of Serbia, Milika Asanin, told RTS that the works on the Clinical Center of Serbia were progressing at a greater pace than planned. He pointed out that the most modern conditions for the treatment of patients would be created, leading to an entirely new concept of operations.
A year ago, the construction of a new tower of the Clinical Center of Serbia started. The extension of the new building and the reconstruction of the existing one will cover an area of 130,000 m2. The value of the works is EUR 110 million.
Asanin said that a lot of time had been lost since 1973, but that things had improved in 2014 and 2015 with the completion of the project design.
– A lot has been done. A new tower of 27,000 square meters has been built. The building has a new facade. The installations are being set up now – Asanin said.
He adds that everything should be ready by August 6, 2021.
The Polyclinic and the Emergency Center will move to the new tower, which will feature a total of 500 beds.
– I want to point that these will be the most modern conditions for treating patients – Asanin pointed out and added that it would also lead to a whole new concept of work.
He says that the new surgical unit will have 20 rooms. Asanin says that the Ministry of Health has already received a recommendation as to the kind of equipment that the Clinical Center should have and that the tenders for procurement and installation are to follow.
