Line 1, Zeleznik-Mirijevo, of 21.3 km, will have 23 stations, and Line 2, Zemun Railway Station-Mirijevo, of 19.2 km, will have 20 stations. More about the routes can be found in a separate article.
As said, Zeleznik, Ranzirna and Makis will be built as overground stations, whereas 19 stations are to be built as shallow underground stations, and 21 as deep underground stations. The Cvetkova Pijaca station will be built at the greatest depth, at 38 meters below the surface.
A shallow underground station without a mezzanine, built using the cut-and-cover method, provides the most direct access to the platforms, some of which will be exposed to natural lights. The construction costs are brought down to a minimum.

A shallow underground station with a mezzanine, built using the cut-and-cover method, has a large access hall on the medium level, from where the passengers choose the direction they want to go. This type of station is optimized to reduce the length and the width of the station and the access areas, thereby reducing the construction costs.

A deep underground station, built using the cut-and-cover method, consists of an underground level with access from the street level, a large hall with operating activities, commercial and service features and a mezzanine directly above the platform and at the end of the platform level.

An overground station is planned with a lower platform level in order to facilitate access to the passengers, so platforms are located about 11 meters above the ground. The station is designed to be as compact as possible, so that the area it takes would be reduced to a minimum, leaving free space at the street level.
Let us remind that, according to the General Regulation Plan of rail systems in Belgrade, with elements of detailed development of the first phase of the first line of the subway system, the key year for the development and reorganization of the public transport system will be 2021. The replenishment of the rolling stock, the expansion of tram and BG Voz lines, along with the first works on the construction of the subway system, should, as said, largely improve the public transport system.
