The airline was the sole bidder and will be the beneficiary of 5.63 million euros over the next three years in order to maintain year-round flights to Vienna and seasonal summer services to Thessaloniki.
In total, 300 return flights will be operated to the Austrian capital for the duration of the subsidy contract. The route has been allocated 3.32 million euros, EX-YU Aviation News reports.
On the other hand, 184 return services will be run from Kraljevo to Greece’s second largest city, for which the Serbian carrier will pocket 2.25 million euros.
The company will receive the remaining 50.174 euros to cover operational start-up costs at Morava Airport.
Under the tender conditions, Air Serbia must launch three weekly flights between Kraljevo and Vienna next month, while three weekly services to Thessaloniki should commence in mid-March 2020.
All flights from Kraljevo will be maintained with the regional ATR72 turboprop aircraft.
