Through acquisitions, XXXLutz has become the second biggest furniture retailer in the world, behind IKEA.
In the upcoming period, they will work on integrating the new acquisitions, such as Kika in Eastern Europe, Pfister Group in Switzerland and Roller and Tejo/Schulenburg in Germany.
– We want to be no. 1 wherever we are. That's no secret. We don't want to let digital players and Americans surpass us when it comes to the trade of furniture in Europe – Saliger emphasized in his statement for APA.
He points out that the company is currently not considering expanding to new countries.
– We might only consider one or two countries in the upcoming years, but we first want to grow in the existing markets such as Germany, Romania and Serbia. Poland is an interesting market as well – Saliger explained.
XXXLutz does not want to expand beyond Europe.
The Austrian company is also present in the markets of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Switzerland, which it has entered through acquisitions.
In Serbia, they operate as owners of Lesnina S, which has opened a department store in Novi Sad, and the plan is for them to also expand to Belgrade and Nis.
