Chinese Shandong high-speed interested in building Belgrade-Zrenjanin and Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highways

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked to the vice president of the Management Board of the Chinese corporation Shandong high-speed, Meng Yen, about the continuation of cooperation on new projects.

Mihajlovic said that, considering the excellent cooperation with this company on the construction of the Milos Veliki highway, she wanted for the cooperation to continue with the construction of the roads between Belgrade and Zrenjanin and Zrenjanin and Novi Sad.

She added that the Government of Serbia and her ministry cooperated well with Chinese companies, thanks to the good relations of the two presidents.

Meng Yen pointed out that Shandong is very interested in taking part in the realization of the said projects and that the experience of the construction of the MIlos Veliki highway and the cooperation up till then were invaluable.


- In addition to these projects, we are also interested in cooperating in the field of so-called smart traffic. In line with Serbia’s economic development, we are sure that there’s a need to develop and manage traffic - Meng said.

At the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint task force to the end of efficiently realizing the project of the construction of the Belgrade-Zrenjanin and Zrenjanin-Novi Sad roads, it is said on the government’s website.
