Price of gas not to change throughout heating season – New investments and expansion of gas pipeline network planned

Gas supply will not be jeopardized, regardless of potential problems, and the price of gas will remain stable and not change in this heating season, said the director of Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, during the signing of the agreement on the gasification of Kraljevo, Kragujevac and Zrenjanin.

As said in a press release by Srbijagas, Bajatovic said that he had taken all measures regarding secure gas supply, even in case there were problems with the delivery through Ukraine.

– In cooperation with the Government of Serbia, Srbijagas has taken all measures to secure additional quantities of gas, primarily from Baumgarten, so the underground storage facility in Banatski Dvor will be filled with an additional 100 million cubic meters by the end of the year, making for a total of 550 million cubic meters – Bajatovic said.

As he added, it’s also good that the construction of the main gas pipeline from the Bulgarian to the Hungarian border is being completed and that the works on expanding the Banatski Dvor storage facility have started, and another storage facility is to be built in Itebej.

Next year, Serbia will start establishing new interconnections as well, primarily the construction of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad-Sofia gas pipeline, preparing the documentation and plans for the Belgrade-Banjaluka gas pipeline and realizing the interconnection toward Romania.

Bajatovic also announced the expansion of the gas pipeline network toward Valjevo, Leskovac, Vranje and Gadzin Han.
