Last weekend, the final section of Corridor 10 opened in Serbia, one in the range of infrastructure project that will have a considerable impact on forwarders and logistics companies in Serbia. Also an agreement on a traveling arrangement requiring only personal ID, the implementation of working permits and a fast flow of goods, was signed in Ohrid between Serbia, Albania and North Macedonia.
As announced, the free and fast flow of goods will be stimulated through the implementation of 24-hour work days for all inspection services, with an emphasis on the phytosanitary and veterinary inspections. The formation of a joint, unified package of documents necessary for the transit of goods within the member states is planned as well.
The establishment of the so-called Mini Schengen is expected to have a positive impact on the sectors of transport and logistics, especially considering the statement of Simon Ellis, the program leader of the World Bank for the Western Balkans, who said that the region's current trade is below 34% of its potentials. At the recent panel dedicated to transport, infrastructure and a better connection between the countries of the Southeast Europe, he said that the Western Balkans also requires the modernization of institutions, investments in people and a coordination of national strategies and transport.
These are just some of the news from the field of transport, and you can read about other ongoing projects and the potential for further development in the new Special Edition Newsletter “Transport and Logistics: Faster, Farther and More Efficient by Land, Water and Air”, which eKapija is preparing in cooperation with Wiener Stadtische insurance.
We will talk about the current projects with representatives of cargo-partner, Gebruder Weiss, Milšped and Transfera. Companies Eko Serbia, World transport overseas, SGS Belgrade, Tahograf, Trigema, CTP Invest, Metal sistemi plus, Free Zone Pirot, California šped and others will present their products, services, solutions and projects.
