The German electronic company HDT, a member of the Beha Group, has become the new investor in the Municipality of Svilajnac. During the signing of the agreement, the president of the municipality of Svilajnac handed the German company the building permit.
– A new foreign investor in the field of electronics shows that we were right to decide to found the free zone in Svilajnac and to open new courses at the Svilajnac high school and then implement the dual education system. Today, we have already made the first two steps, as Beha Group has bought the land, and our administration has prepared all the documentation, so we've signed the agreement today, and the construction of the factory begins next week – said the president of the municipality of Svilajnac, Predrag Milanovic.
The company has bought 1 ha of land in the free zone and plans to build a factory of electronic measurement instruments, of around 2,000 m2. The beginning of the construction is planned for November 1, whereas the factory will start operating on April 1, 2020. This export-oriented company will employ over 100 workers. The planned investment is around EUR 1 million. Their clients are famous companies from Western Europe, USA and Japan.
– We are a family company which operates for more than 50 years and we produce electronic measurement instruments. We have factories in Germany and China and a development center in Belgrade which has been operating successfully for ten years now. That is why we've decided to open a production facility in Serbia. We've chosen Svilajnac as the administration here is very cooperative. I was sure that we would have a good long-term cooperation if we came here, which is very important for us, because we are a large company, but are still foreigners here. That's why Svilajnac gets an 11 on our scale from 1 to 10 – said Lars Beha, the director of Beha Group.
