Companies from Kladovo, Shipyard Kladovo and Djerdap Usluge, have been awarded the job of building two pontoons in Belgrade for RSD 43.1 million with VAT.

In the decision on the awarding of the contract, the Secretariat for Economy says that these companies were the only bidders in the public procurement procedure.

Let us remind that, in late May, the City made the decision on the construction of two pontoons and that it opened the tender procedure for the building of two pontoons-terminals for ships, aiming for, as they said, a further development of nautical tourism.

– Nautical tourism doesn't just mean large passenger ships, but also river yachts, both those belonging to foreign tourists and those belonging to local ones, of which there is a growing number – the Secretariat for Economy specified in the contest documentation.

One of the new city boat terminals will be located on the left coast of the Sava, in Block 45 in New Belgrade, whereas the construction of another one is planned on the right coast of the Danube, in Vinca. The preliminary design was prepared by the AXIS studio from Novi Sad.

The deadline for the completion of works is 60 days from the beginning of the construction. Under the terms of the contest, the bidder needs to have successfully delivered at least three facilities of the same or similar purpose, worth no less than RSD 72 million.

The contest documentation says that Belgrade has already developed, cleaned and paved the two locations for the installation of pontoons and that it has provided electricity and water connections for the future facilities.

The Port Governance Agency of the Republic of Serbia estimates that the number of nautical tourists in Serbia could grow to over 100,000 a year by 2025.
