Fourth “Novi Sad Oktoberfest” begins

The fourth “Novi Sad Oktoberfest” officially began at the Novi Sad Fair on the evening of October 18 with the symbolic opening of the first beer barrel.

This two-day event is of great importance for the tourist economy of Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and has gathered over 15,000 visitors, a number of exhibitors, representatives of the most famous breweries and hundreds of craft breweries, as well as food producers, in the past three years, it was announced on the website of the Government of Vojvodina.

The organizers are providing the visitors with presentations of beer giants and 21 small breweries, accompanied by a musical program, various contests and a demo band competition.

The event is supported by the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism, the City of Novi Sad, the Embassy of Germany in the Republic of Serbia and the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

The Vice President of the Provincial Government and the Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, Ivan Djokovic, emphasized that, in only several years, “Novi Sad Oktoberfest” had become a tourist products of its own and a part of the cultural environment, not just in Novi Sad, but in the whole Serbia as well. This is confirmed by the fact that this event is on the list of the ten best Oktoberfest events held worldwide.

– The organizers, Color Media Communications and the Novi Sad Fair, have shown for the fourth time in a row that Novi Sad has a prominent place on the tourist map of Europe. The statistics show that there are also visitors from Asia, and the sale of tickets for this event has increased as well. Novi Sad, which deserves its title of the European cultural capital, is a city which combines the east and the west, the north and the south, capitalism and socialism, Asia and Europe – Djokovic added.

This year’s program is characterized by a gourmet menu, a Bavarian spirit and a rich music program.
