Vojvodina looking for company to prepare Food Industry Development Plan

The Autonomous Province of Vojvodina will work on the preparation of the Food Industry Development Plan in the upcoming period, through the manager it selects.

The Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism has opened a public procurement procedure seeking a company which would do a detailed analysis of the market, the trends and the occurrences in the food industry.

The selected company will need to gather all the available data and answer the following questions: where does the food industry belong in the national system of classification of activities; how does the current legal and institutional framework see the food industry sector; and what are the main characteristics of food product manufacture in the European Union and Serbia?

After further empirical research, surveys, interviews with those familiar with the topic and focus groups, the data need to be analyzed, and a vision of the development of the food industry in Vojvodina needs to be presented in terms of how it will be executed and what the indicators of success are. Vojvodina needs a special strategy for stimulating employment, self-employment, creating innovations, increasing competitiveness, exporting activities and drawing investments to the food industry sector.

– An analysis of the business environment and the state of the economy of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina has shown that the food industry (with agriculture as the foundation), is one of the four sectors of the manufacturing industry with the potential for growth and development, accompanied by the export and the generation of new jobs – the Secretariat says in the contest documentation.

A public discussion will be held at the Assembly of Vojvodina before the document is adopted.

It is up to the bidders to provide the timeframe for the preparation of the plan.
