Contract signed for construction of "Svračkovo" dam - project worth about 4.8 billion RSD
- The representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and mayors of five cities signed the contract for construction of dam and artificial lake "Svračkovo" on the Rzav river yesterday (October 14, 2009) in Arilje - said Velimir Stanojević, the Mayor of Čačak.
Stanojević said that the contract had been signed by the mayors of Čačak, Arilje, Požega, Lučno and Gornji Milanovac, the Director of public water supply company "Rzav" from Arilje, Ljubo Lazović, and the CEO of the Republic Directorate for Waters, Aleksandar Prodanović.
He said that the construction of artificial lake "Svračkovo" would cost about 4.8 billion RSD, 90% of which would be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, while the rest would be set aside by five cities that used the water from the Rzav system.
It is expected that the construction of artificial lake "Svračkovo" will be finished prior to year 2014.
The city of Čačak, which is the largest user of water from the Rzav system, will invest about 2.5m EUR in construction of the dam. Municipalities of Požega and Gornji Milanovac will set aside 700,000 EUR each, while the municipalities of Arilje and Lučani will invest 400,000 EUR each.
