American company Modine opens new facility in Sremska Mitrovica – Jobs for 270 people

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic opened the new facility of Modine in Sremska Mitrovica today. She invited American companies to invest in research centers in Serbia, as the country is the leader in the region in this field.

Brnabic especially praised the local self-government for attracting foreign investments, emphasizing that American companies are an important partner in raising the economy in Serbia, as they've invested more than USD 4 billion and employed over 20,000 people.

The Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, Gabriel Escobar, said that he was proud that the embassy was a partner in drawing American investments to Serbia, the government says on its website.

– We believe that American business is the best in the world and that the labor force in Serbia meets our standards. It is our pleasure to continue the cooperation with representatives of authorities on all levels in Serbia and we support the reforms that are being carried out – Escobar said.

The director of Modine Serbia, Dejan Nestorovic, said that the opening of the new 3,500-m2 facility in Sremska Mitrovica was an important step forward in the company's operations.

– Our goal is to fill the new production capacities with people, to train them and to have them master the new production processes, so as to achieve even better business results in the future – Nestorovic said.

Modine has 12,000 employees on five continents. The investment in Sremska Mitrovica amounts to over EUR 1 million. Initially, 45 workers will be employed, and then a total of 270 in the upcoming period.

Modine is a global leader in the production of industrial temperature regulators and cooling devices, primarily in the auto-industry.
