Foreign companies interested in Serbia - SIEPA's conclusion from European Industrial Summit in Dusseldorf
- In spite of the crisis, foreign companies expressed interest in Serbia at European Industrial Summit in Dusseldorf - the Investment and Export Promotion Agency of Serbia (SIEPA) announced today (October 14, 2009).
During the two-day meeting, the interest in investments in Serbia or purchase of products from Serbia was expressed by Italian company for railway signalling "Ansaldo STS", Brazilian manufacturer of compressors "Embraco", Dutch chemical industry DSM, and Swiss high-tech company ABB.
It is added that French airplane manufacturer "Bombardier" and certain German textile company announced that they would be seeking suppliers among Serbian companies.
At the fifth European Industrial Summit, which started on October 12th and ends today, Serbian economy and investment opportunities were presented by SIEPA.
The Head of SIEPA's Foreign Investment Sector, Darko Đukić, said that "positive progress is evident in Serbia" and that "the time has come for active campaign because many international companies use the crisis to find favorable locations for production".
He said that the number of held meetings proved the existence of investors' interest in Serbia.
