Valuable tourist projects being prepared on Tara – Development infrastructure and offering of locations to investors planned

The mayor of Uzice, Tihomir Petkovic, and the president of the municipality of Bajina Basta, Radomir Filipovic, have visited locations on Tara which could be made available to investors with the goal of developing tourism on this mountain.

As said, these two local self-governments seriously intend to develop tourism on Tara through joint efforts.

– We have plenty of interesting destinations, one of which is the location in the very center of Tara, which has been offered to potential investors on several occasions. It is owned by the state, but the Property Directorate of the Republic of Serbia would support its use to the benefit of Uzice. The president of Bajina Basta, Radomir Filipovic, and I agreed to take active measures toward developing this location and upgrading the road infrastructure, which is the basis for the development of tourism on this mountain. The intent is to have several realized projects worth several million euros in the upcoming years with the state's help, to the end of developing tourism on Tara – said Tihomir Petkovic.

Radomir Filipovic pointed out that the priority of the two local self-governments was for the area in Kaludjerske Bare, owned by the state, to be repurposed for tourism. The area in the heart of Tara, which belongs to the territory of Bajina Basta and is owned by the Military Institution Tara, according to Filipovic, should become a square and be one of Tara's symbols, the Zoomue portal reports.
