Firefly Productions wants to invest EUR 5.8 million in construction of three film studios in Pancevo

The Belgrade-based company Firefly Production d.o.o. has submitted a letter of intent to the City of Pancevo, listing the details of the planned investment in the construction of a film studio complex in a location not far from the old flea market on the Bavaniste Road, in the Hippodrome zone.

As the 013info portal writes, the company bought this plot of land for RSD 54.1 million, and they plan investments of EUR 5.8 million for the construction of three film studios with the accompanying facilities, with an area of around 12,000 m2.

There will be 22 permanent employees at the studios, and another 70 workers will be hired. The number of temporary workers will reach 2,000.

Based on this, the City Council of Pancevo has proposed to the members of the city parliament to adopt a decision whereby it is determined that the project is of special significance for Pancevo. This would be the basis for a reduction of contributions for the development of building land.

– The Council has estimated that this film studio complex will upgrade the tourism, the culture and the promotion of Pancevo and create conditions for inciting development and attracting investments, establishing standards of a favorable business environment and stimulating investments – says the explanation of the proposition.
