New oil terminal worth EUR 12 million to be built in Sremski Karlovci

The president of the Provincial Government, Igor Mirovic, visited the construction site for the new oil terminal of Naftachem d.o.o. in Sremski Karlovci and pointed out that this investment shows that Serbian companies can be very successful and that it is our duty to support them.

As said on the website of the Provincial Government, the investment in worth EUR 12 million. This company has operated in the market for 16 years. It employs 250 workers.

– This investment is important not just for Sremski Karlovci, but for the entire Serbia as well when it comes to the transport and storage of oil. The Provincial Government will continue supporting the development of local economy through the mechanisms of the Development Agency of Vojvodina, both in terms of employment and the procurement of modern equipment – Mirovic said and added that these measures have helped employ around 3,000 people in the past two years.

– There used to be a swamp here, and now we are building this oil terminal in line with the highest global standards, thanks to the knowledge and the experience of our workers. We will store petrol and Euro-diesel here for our own needs and for the needs of other multinational companies – pointed out Drago Papic, the director of Naftachem.

Mirovic was accompanied by the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, Bosko Vucurevic, and the president of the Municipality of Sremski Karlovci, Nenad Milenkovic.
