The Chinese mining company Zijin, which owns RTB Bor, will build a whole new ore processing facility in Majdanpek, in line with the most modern technological and environmental standards, it was announced at the company's seat in the Shanghang County during the visit of Serbia's delegation, led by Mining and Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic.

The minister said that he expected that Zijin would apply for the permits for the construction in Majdanpek and that it would begin the realization of the floatation project before the end of the year.

As he pointed out, all the technological and ecological solutions implemented in China will be applied by Zijin to the mines in Serbia as well.

Talking about the investments of Zijin in Serbia, Antic said that, with the latest project for Cukaru Peki, the total value of the company's investments had reached nearly USD 2 billion.

– One of the first steps we will make in Serbia is to expand the production and recover the Jama and Cerovo mines in Majdanpek, as well as to recover the technology at the smelters – said George Fang, the Executive Director of Zijin Mining Group.
