Construction of National Tennis Center to start in March 2010 – investment worth 2m EUR
- Although the Tennis Association of Serbia (TSS) announced two years ago that the construction of the National Tennis Center would commence in March 2008, that did not happen, but it is most likely that the works will start in March 2010 – Snežana Samardžić Marković recently told "Politika".
- We had the meeting with Mayor Dragan Đilas and the President of TSS, Slobodan Živojinović, and we agreed that all necessary activities for construction of the National Tennis Center should start as soon as possible. We all got the assignments. The City is to carry out certain procedures concerning land and city-planning documentation, TSS will be working on the preliminary solution and the main project, while the Ministry will provide necessary financial aid. Due to planning of the budget for year 2010, this was the final deadline for agreement. Realization should start the next year, most probably in March – said Ms. Samardžić Marković.
The location is already known – Block 5, near the Hall of Sports in New Belgrade.
- This is a capital project, of national significance, and it will cost about 2m EUR. We will also ask the Ministry of NIP to help us – the Minister of Sport added.
