A new head office building of the Parking Service of Belgrade, along with an area for tow-trucks and another 100 new parking spaces for trucks, is planned close to the Parking Service facility in Block 53 near the Wholesale Green Market. The said facilities will take up six hectares, as announced by the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, while visiting the building meant for forwarders in Block 53, which also houses the reconstructed first level of the current business premises for the needs of the Terminal Beograd customs outpost.

– When the decision was reached for us to invest in this customs terminal, the one in the Port of Belgrade was closed. This enabled the truck traffic to be moved from the city center – Vesic said, as reported by Beoinfo.

According to him, two buildings for forwarders were built in several years and now there’s this new office building, which is worth around a million euros and which now has around 2,000 square meters.

– All the forwarders located here, of which there are around 120, now have normal working conditions. This is the biggest customs terminal in the Balkans, where around EUR 4 billion worth of goods is cleared and where around 100,000 trucks pass through each year. We have around 400 parking spaces and we can now say that, after four years of hard work, this customs terminal is at the level it should be – Vesic added.

The new office building has 58 offices meant for forwarding companies operating at the international terminal. The works on the reconstruction of the current premises for the customs outpost took a month, and the customs service now has a new, larger and more comfortable hall with 26 points, as well as a server room and a front office. The second level of this office building is currently being developed.

The logistics center at the international terminal in New Belgrade spreads on eight hectares. In addition to the customs outpost, it also features a parking lot for cargo and passenger vehicles, a public customs and commercial warehouse, as well as the business premises of numerous forwarding companies.
