Social Insurance Agreement signed with Slovenia
The President of Serbia, Boris Tadić, has started his two-day visit to Slovenia with the talks with his colleague Danilo Tirk about final social insurance agreement between the two countries.
Tadić and Tirk greeted friendly relations between Serbia and Slovenia at the press conference after the meeting on the hill near Kranj, and pointed to significance of economic cooperation and appearance in third markets, as well as importance of cooperation in field of culture and education.
Tadić pointed out that membership in EU was the greatest strategic and political interest of Serbia, and he expressed gratitude to Slovenia for providing support to Belgrade.
Tadić and Tirk explained the significance of the principle and fairness in mutual cooperation, as well as in the relations toward other countries and resolving of the problems, especially when it comes to succession of property of former SFRY.
As the concrete result of the improving relations between the two countries, authorized ministers Ivan Svetlik and Rasim Ljajić signed the Social Insurance Agreement yesterday (September 29, 2009), which created conditions for the citizens of Serbia who worked in Slovenia to realize their rights to pension and vice versa.
