RADOJICIC: Construction of Tirsova 2 probably to start in spring 2020

The construction of the Tirsova 2 children’s hospital should begin in the spring of 2020, Mayor of Belgrade Zoran Radojicic announced on Saturday, August 24, on RTS.

The preliminary design for the hospital was adopted on Thursday, August 22. The expert team formed by the government’s Office for Public Investments picked one of the two proposed options from the tendering procedure, Radojicic said, as reported by Beoinfo.

He pointed out that, according to the adopted design, the health institution would have 33,000 sqm, a large number of parking spaces, as well as single- and double-bed rooms.

He emphasized that all the propositions made by the experts and their colleagues from the Tirsova hospital had been realized and integrated into the design.

– What’s especially important is the location of this hospital. It will be located in central Belgrade, and the design entails the construction of access routes connected to the highway and Deligradska Street – the mayor said.

The mayor also mentioned that he was traveling to Helsinki in September at the invitation of the European Hospital and Healthcare Federation, where he will visit the most modern children’s hospitals and discuss their construction and functioning.

– Finland’s healthcare concept is on a high level of development and I am especially glad that they have a rational system, which doesn’t entail spending large amounts of money. Helsinki is very rational when it comes to such projects and it is important for us to implement such principles in our capital as well and to provide patients with better treatment conditions together with the Ministry of Health – the mayor said.
