Adequate boat being sought for Bar-Bari line

The company Barska Plovidba is constantly trying to find and buy an adequate boat for the Bar-Bari line, stated the company’s executive director, Tihomir Mirkovic.

He told the Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda that an adequate boat had not yet be found, but also pointed out that boats over 30 years old were being sold on the market at the price of seven or eight million euros and even above, the Analitika portal reports.

– It’s not simple to secure the funds, even for boats that old, and especially for a new, more expensive boat – Mirkovic said.

According to him, Barska Plovidba cooperates well with the Rijeka-based company Jadrolinija, which operates the Bar-Bari line with its boat “Dubrovnik”.

– Several days ago, “Dubrovnik” made a record by transporting 1,250 passengers in a single trip. This boat will operate the line between the coasts of Montenegro and Italy by the end of November, when we will sum up the results of this year’s passenger transport operations – Mirkovic said.
