The Competition Council of B&H has reached a decision to grant a “conditional approval” to m:tel company for Doboj-based cable operator Elta-Kabel takeover.

This acquisition will give m:tel, owned by Telekom Srbija, complete dominance in the following markets: landline phone service, mobile phone service, internet service provision and radio and TV service provision in Republika Srpska, BiznisInfo portal writes.

Let us remind that m:tel has also bought Telrad net from Bijeljina and Blicnet from Banjaluka since the beginning of the year.

By acquiring Elta-Kabel, m:tel has eliminated competition from the RS market.

Aside from that, m:tel also owns Sarajevo-based internet service provider Logosoft.

The Competition Council has, a few days ago, reached a decision which “assessed the concentration in the landline phone service, mobile phone service, internet service provision and radio and TV service provision retail markets in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina that is a result of m:tell business entity from Banjaluka gaining ownership of Elta-Kabel business entity from Doboj, by buying the majority of the shared in Elta-Kabel business entity, as conditional.”

The decision didn`t specify what the “conditional approval” of the acquisition meant, BiznisInfo writes.
