The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Science and Technological Development of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, spoke at the meeting of the World Economic Forum in Dalian to the founder of "Wikipedia", Jimmy Wails, who accepted his invitation to visit Serbia soon.

Wails gave the compliments to very active "Wikipedia" community in Serbia, thanks to which Belgrade became the regional host of the Wikipedia backup database in August 2009, and that makes the access to these data easier for the users from Serbia.

Wails accepted Đelić's invitation to visit Serbia and back the innovative Internet projects in our country.

- I am very happy with the fact that Jimmy Wails, one of the world's most creative Internet leaders, accepted our invitation to come to Serbia and help us affirm innovations and technology in our country - said Đelić.

The "Wikipedia" project was launched in 2001, and it is now one of the ten most visited sites on the Internet with over 12m articles in more than 236 languages.
