France to introduce eco-tax on all flights from its airports

France will introduce a tax on airlines flying from its airports to help support the environment, French Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne said on Tuesday.

– We have decided to put in place an eco-tax on all flights from France – Borne told a news conference, Reuters reports.

The move is expected to raise around 180 million euros from 2020, she said and added that proceeds would be used to finance daily transport in France.
