MIHAJLOVIC: Construction of new runway at Morava Airport to begin in 2020

The construction of a new runway at the Morava Airport near Kraljevo, which opened this Friday, will begin in 2020, said Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia Zorana Mihajlovic.

– The preparation of the project-technical documentation for the construction of a new runway at the airport in Ladjevci will begin this year, so that the works could start next year, for which we will set aside funds from the 2020 budget – the minister said, as reported by her ministry.

She said that, in addition to the introduction of regular airlines, in order to develop, the Morava Airport also needed to become an important center for cargo transport, which, as she said, lines up with the construction of the future Morava Corridor, which will connect Cacak and Pojate:

– There’s less than five kilometers between the Morava Airport and the Morava Corridor. This will help attract new investments to central Serbia.
