Value of potential joint projects of Serbia and China over EUR 8 billion

Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked to a delegation of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and a delegation of Chinese companies about infrastructure projects being realized in Serbia and the possibilities of new investments by Chinese companies in this field.

She invited Chinese companies to work on new projects with Serbia as well.

After the meeting, Mihajlovic told the press that, in addition to the traditionally good bilateral, friendly cooperation, the economic cooperation was getting increasingly successful, both in terms of statistics and the practical results.

She reminded that various infrastructure projects were being carried out with China, including bridges, highways, railway transport...

The projects that Serbia is realizing with China are worth approximately EUR 7 billion, and the value of potential projects, including the subway project, is over EUR 8 billion.

– Serbia is developing at a rapid pace and the economic situation in the country is good and stable – Mihajlovic said.

She added that the meeting had been attended by representatives of the best companies from China and that she had invited them to work together on future projects.

– They praised the business conditions in our country and pointed out that they were getting better and better – Mihajlovic said.

She added that she hoped that there would be new investments in the field of infrastructure in the upcoming period.

The total value of projects with China in the field of traffic infrastructure is over EUR 7.5 billion, of which around EUR 1.5 billion are projects currently being realized, mostly on Corridor 11 and the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway.
