1,1 mil EUR for cross-border cooperation of Montenegro and Serbia
European Commission (EC) has approved the Program of cross-border cooperation between Montenegro and Serbia, worth 1,1 mil EUR, as it was announced by EC's Delegation in Podgorica.
This program will, within this year's IPA program, provide the money for joint actions directed towards building of physical, business, social and institutional infrastructure and capacities, as it stands in the announcement.
The money will be provided for technical support as well, in the goal of increasing administrative capacities, and for the purposes of applying the program of cross-border cooperation.
Potential direct users of the means from pre-accessive funds of EU in Montenegro are the following municipalities - Pljevlja, Bijelo Polje, Berane, Rozaje, Plav, Andrijevica, Kolasin, Mojkovac, Zabljak, Pluzine, Savnik and Niksic.
EC has obliged to financially support participation of the two counties, with the means from IPA budget for this year, and so 600.000 eur for Montenegro, and 500.000 eur for Serbia.
The Commission has approved similar programs, within IPA components about cross-border cooperation for this year, related to cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro and Albania and Montenegro.
The program of cooperation with Albania is worth 1,45 mil EUR, and between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro sums to 1,1 mi EUR.
The program of cross-border cooperation was intitated in 2007 and it is planned to last until 2013.
Total value of the three adopted programs of cross-border cooperation for this year is 3,65 mil EUR.
