UrbiGo – smart garden where plants are grown with the help of an app

If you have no previous knowledge about the growing of plants and you want to enrich your living space, UrbiGo is there to help you. This smart garden helps you cultivate spices and mini-vegetables. It consist of a mini-garden and a set of bio-degradable capsules with plant seeds. The garden also features lighting and advanced sensors, which ensure that the plants can grow and develop in a closed space, even in winter. In only two months, fresh vegetables and tea will be available to you.

UrbiGo is connected to the users phone through an app, allowing for remote communication with the plants.

– After you connect your garden with your phone, all you need to do is to water the plants when you are notified by the app, which is once in four weeks – Anja Varnicic, who found the inspiration for the project during her studies in Scandinavia, told the Real Estate magazine.

She combined nature and technology and enabled everyone to become an urban gardener.

– Other founders joined the mission, namely, Aleksandar Varnicic, Predrag Gajic and Milan Trajkovic, who brought expertise to our team, from software and hardware engineering to design – Varnicic added.

Through the app, depending on the plant capsules you are using, you learn about the plants you are growing, master interesting recipes and share your progress with other users.

Fifty types of capsules are currently available – from lettuce and arugula, through cherry tomato, to basil, rosemary and lavender. Tea capsules, including mint, chamomile, as well as varieties with specific spices and medicinal herbs, are also being planned.
