Serbia is a country with great potential and a growing market when it comes to the production of hazelnuts. This has been recognized by the company Ferrero, which has been operating in the country for several years now and which has been looking to help Serbian agriculturists reach the optimal product quality.

This potential has also been recognized by the Italian company Rivmec, which has been producing agricultural equipment for 40 years now, and they currently focus on machines for the processing of hazelnuts and other nuts.

– As a company, we specialize in machines meant for all producers of hazelnuts and other nuts. This equipment harvests, deshells and dries hazelnuts. It's what we presented at this year's Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad – the company's owner, Valter Rivetti, told eKapija.

Rivmec also produces related equipment, used for all processes from the harvesting of fruits, through separating healthy fruits from rotten ones, to packing the product. Considering that Serbia is a growing market when it comes to the production of hazelnuts, our interviewee believes that the company has the potential to develop a business in the country.

– The production of hazelnuts takes time, a few years need to pass for agriculturists to develop the production. Serbia is certainly potentially a very interesting market for us, which is why we took part in the fair – Rivetti says.

As he pointed out, the company doesn't have representatives in Serbia yet, which could be a big opportunity for local companies.

– We had a few talks with potential partners at the fair, but it's all still in the early stages – the owner of Rivmec told eKapija.

Rivmec presented its offer at the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad as part of the collective exhibit organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) this year as well, gathering 28 companies from the agricultural sector, as well as two Italian centers for promotion.
