Car parts manufacturers from Serbia participate in international project
The automobile industry group of Serbia will participate in an international project whose aim is forming of the network of manufacturers and institutions in Southeastern Europe that will stimulate development and innovations in production of car parts.
The CEO of the Automobile Cluster of Serbia, Igor Vijatov, told Beta agency that the project would connect manufacturers of car parts, research centers and universities from Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Serbia.
According to his words, the project has been approved by the European Commission on July 10, and it will last for two years, with 1.4m EUR worth of financial support from EU.
Realization of the project has officially started with the meeting of participants in the project in Slovakian city of Trnava.
- Partners from nine European countries will give suggestions for innovations in production of car parts, which will then be offered to large manufacturers of vehicles as our original products - said Vijatov.
He estimated that the project was significant because its aim was to stimulate research and innovations in production of car parts, which was nearly discontinued in some countries with the arrival of large automobile manufacturers.
- Famous automobile manufacturers have their own development centers and, in some way, they deccelerated reasearch activities and development of car parts, which was something that local institutions or universities were doing for a long time - said Vijatov.
According to his words, the solution to that problem lies in networking of development institutions and automobile clusters.
