The Chinese company JCXKS has signed an agreement with the company Rakita, owned by the Chinese corporation Zijin, under which it will build the mining facility for the exploration and exploitation of the gold and copper mine in the Cukaru Peki location near Bor for EUR 33.5 million.
The construction works are expected to begin on July 1 and completed by July 2021, and it was announced earlier that the mine might become fully operational in 2022. The Canadian company Nevsun sold around 90% of the ownership to Zijin for around USD 1.2 billion in December 2018.
The Chinese company thereby became the owner of exploration rights in the upper zone of the Cukaru Peki site, where the copper reserves are estimated at around a million tons.
