New regional flight control center prior to year 2011
- New Regional Flight Control Center Belgrade will be finished prior to the end of year 2010, and the value of works is about 18m EUR - the President of the Administrative Board of the Flight Control Agency of Serbia and Montenegro, Nikola Stankov, said on July 24, 2009.
- Serbia will have the world's most modern flight control center in spring 2011- Stankov said to the press when he visited the building site of that center.
He said that the Regional Flight Control Center would comprise 22 sectors with 50 controllors, which would be able to receive 4,000 airplanes a day.
As he explained, the building will be equipped with state-of-the-arts air traffic management systems, while the air traffic safety in the region will be improved.
The carrier of the works on construction of the building at 9,000 square meters is "Projektomontaža" with subcontractors "Deneza M inženjering", "Telefonija" and "Ratko Mitrović niskogradnja", and the works commenced 105 days ago.
The project is financed from the loan approved by the European Investment Bank.
