"Valentino" in Majdanpek - ambitious plans of largest manufacturer of jewelry in Serbia

After Slovenian company "Laser Bled", from Ljubljana, bought Jewelry "Majdanpek", the largest manufacturer of jewelry in Serbia, at the price of 4.6m EUR at the auction, the new owners signed the contract, according to which the design for new models of jewelry that will be produced in Majdanpek's factory will be done by famous designers from companies"Versace" and "Valentino". Mark Kavčić, the CEO of "Laser Bled", confirmed that to "Novosti".

- We have already agreed on sale of large quantity of our products with Dubai-based company "Samra", which is the main distributor of gold jewelry in Africa - says Kavčić.

- Also, we are negotiating with partners from European Union and USA about sale of our products in those countries.

Kavčić points out that the investment in modernization of production units, as well as refurbishment of the 41st retail facility of Jewelry "Majdanpek" in the country and abroad, will not be smaller than 10m EUR.

- If we want "Majdanpek" to regain its former fame and that we start manufacturing 200 kilograms of jewelry per month, which is the optimal capacity of the Jewelry, that is the minimum amount we have to invest - the CEO of "Laser Bled" pointed out.

Jewelry "Majdanpek", which is a part of Metal-processing industry "Majdanpek", employs 344 workers.

Gold and Hygiene

The primary business of "Laser Bled" since 1991 is cleaning of business facility. Kavčić, however, points out that that is only one of the businesses of his company, and he adds that the company also owns jewelry stores.
