The architectural team in charge of the design of the Belgrade gondola has just finished the preliminary design of the “air tram” which will connect Usce and Kalemegdan, eKapija learns.

The preliminary design, which will be sent to the State Reviewing Commission, was preceded by the issuing of the location permit for this project in mid-February. The next step is to obtain the building permit and to start the construction, which should take place in early April 2019, according to the announcements made so far.

Let us remind that the agreement on the construction of the gondola was signed in late December 2018, with three local companies and one Italian company chosen as the contractors.

As one of them, Elkoms Belgrade, in charge of the project activities and a part of the works, told our portal, the gondola's cabins will have 10 seats, not 10 to 35, as previously reported in the media.

The gondola is supposed to be built by the end of the year.
