Serbia and B&H will commence the works on the Belgrade-Bijeljina together in late spring or early summer, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

– This highway will connect Bijeljina with the Belgrade-Zagreb highway, making for a highway from Belgrade to Bijeljina, and Republika Srpska will then build further toward Brcko – Vucic said at a media conference following a meeting with Milorad Dodik, Member of Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vucic added that they had also discussed other important projects.

As he said, Serbia has obliged to build a bridge on the Sava worth EUR 100 million.

– We will build it very quickly. And then, if they wish to do so, the route can be extended to Tuzla. This is a very important incentive for the economy, trade, closer cooperation... – he said.

Vucic added that the trade between the two countries was at its peak and that Serbia was one of the most important trade partners of B&H at the moment.

In December, a commercial contract on the planning and construction of the Sremska Raca-Kuzmin section of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, worth EUR 250 million, was signed in Belgrade by Serbian Transport Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, Zoran Drobnjak the acting director of the PE Roads of Serbia, and Emrullah Turanli, the chairman of the Turkish company Tasyapi, which will realize this project.
