Project documentation for reconstruction of Bar railway to be prepared

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the president of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozyorov, talked this Monday, December 24, in Belgrade about the further development and upgrade of the railway infrastructure in Serbia, the president's cabinet announced.

Vucic and Belozyorov talked about two investments of strategic importance for Serbia – the dispatch center, which would establish a better organization and full monitoring of the entire railway transport in Serbia, and the project of the full reconstruction of the Valjevo-Vrbnica railway (the remaining unreconstructed section of the Belgrade-Bar railway in Serbia). The preparation of the project documentation for this section, based on which the deadline for the beginning of works will be determined, was agreed.

Vucic thanked Belozyorov for Russian Railways' engagement and said that special attention needed to paid to safety in the realization of all future projects.

Belozyorov pointed out that Russian Railways were one of the leading companies in the world.

Russian Railways have transported the record number of 1,152,000,000 passengers in 2018, and the completion of one of the most complicated infrastructural projects, the railway ring around Moscow, has contributed to the excellent results, the press release says.
