Project of reconstruction of road across Kadinjaca – Preliminary design for tunnel completed

In addition to the completion of the Kadinjaca tunnel project, the Municipality of Bajina Basta is working on several more projects in cooperation with the Roads of Serbia. The preparation of the preliminary design with a feasibility study of the reconstruction of the I-b state road 28 (previously M-19.1 and M-5), section: Zaglavak-Uzice. The tendering has already started.

As the Drina Info portal has learned from Ivan Markovic, who is also the coordinator on the Kadinjaca tunnel project, the Roads of Serbia plan a full reconstruction of the road across Kadinjaca.

– The tendering for the designer of the 17.5-km route from Zaglavak to Uzice is in progress. The job will be completed by summer. The aim is for the category of the road to be maintained as I-b, so that investment maintenance would remain in charge of the state and so that we could continue with investments from Ponikve to Kaludjerske Bare as the most important travel destination in this part of Serbia. We all know that this is one of the worst roads in Serbia and that it needs to be repaired urgently – Markovic explains.

Markovic says that the preliminary design for the Kadinjaca tunnel is completed and that the Municipality of Bajina Basta and the Town of Uzice have already initiated the procedure of public access to the Detailed Regulation Plan for the tunnel and the route, which will last for a month.

– One of the projects we are working on is the planning of the connection to the future Pozega-Kotroman highway, which should be connected to the Tara Mountain (both Mitrovac and Kaludjerske Bare), which will require a lot of time and money – says Markovic, as reported by the Drina Info portal.
