50 stations and 500 public bikes each year in Belgrade

The City Assembly of Belgrade today adopted the decision on the establishment of a public bicycle transport service in the capital of Serbia in the next three years.

The plan is to open 50 stations and procure 500 bicycles each year.

The funds set aside for the purpose amount to EUR 3 million.


Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic said that the city wanted to give advantage to pedestrians compared to polluting means of transport and that the plan was for 120 kilometers of bicycle lanes to be built in the next four years.
