Mineco grants scholarships to mining engineering students – Euro for Knowledge Foundation scholarships awarded

The British company Mineco, one of the leading investors in the field of mining in Serbia and the region, has announced that senior students of mining Nevena Bogdanovic and Andjela Bogdanovic have been awarded scholarships of the Euro for Knowledge Foundation, the funds for which have been secured by the company.

– We are very satisfied that we have had very successful mining students as recipients of the scholarships of the Euro for Knowledge Foundation for the third year in a row. We want to help them on their way and, of course, meet future mining engineers, which will be able to gain practical knowledge at our company – stated Sava Mandic, Mineco representative in Belgrade.

The students thanked Mineco and the Foundation and emphasized that they had made great efforts to be good students. They added that they were glad that their success had been recognized. Nevena Bogdanovic and Andjela Bogdanovic also said that it was especially important that the scholarships had been awarded from within the profession, enabling them to establish contacts in the mining sector which would prove useful in the future.

On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, the Euro for Knowledge Foundation awarded twelve scholarships, two of which were provided by Mineco. The recipients will get a grant of RSD 100,000 each. The Foundation was established in 2010 with the idea of investing in knowledge, primarily in the education of young people.

In Serbia, Mineco and its partners own lead and zinc mines Bosil-Metal near Bosilegrad, Rudnik near Gornji Milanovac and Veliki Majdan near Ljubovija. In B&H, they are the majority owner of the Gross lead and zinc mine, the antimony mine near Novo Gorazde and the cerussite mine near Olovo. In Celebici near Foca, they have successfully completed explorations and had the mining reserves study certified.
